Saif Kasmikha


Saif Kasmikha is a managing partner and co-founder of Midwest Legal Partners LLC. Mr. Kasmikha focuses his practice on healthcare law and corporate law, specifically the transactional aspects of healthcare. Mr. Kasmikha represents physicians, hospitals, clinics, and other health institutions. His areas of practice include HIPAA, Stark Law, Anti-kickback Statutes, Fraud and Abuse claims, physician recruitment, Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement, and strategic business consultations of hospitals and physician-owned practices. Mr. Kasmikha has been instrumental in the formation of a physician-owned hospital, handles cases involving third party payers and reimbursement matters, and the future of electronic medical records (EMR). Mr. Kasmikha’s experience in business law has allowed him to start up various business entities, handle tax matters associated with corporate clients, create operating agreements for limited liability companies (LLCs), and advise on both legal and business matters for clients. He has also drafted buy-sell agreements, purchase agreements, and landlord-tenant contracts; reviewed promissory notes, and negotiated contracts with bank lenders. Additionally, Mr. Kasmikha’s education and experience has allowed him to take on various complex litigation matters, which include insurance defense, disputes between pharmaceutical companies, and medical malpractice cases. He received his BA at the James Madison College at Michigan State University and completed a dual-degree JD/MBA program at Loyola University-Chicago. Saif also serves as a compliance and risk advisor for Humana’s national healthcare operations. Mr. Kasmikha is licensed to practice law in Michigan and Illinois.

Candace V. Yono

Vice President

Candace V. Yono is an associate at Cohen, Lerner, Rabinovitz, P.C. where she concentrates her practice on commercial transactions and business litigation.

Ms. Yono graduated magna cum laude from the University of Detroit Mercy with a B.A. in Political Science and minors in both Business Administration and Spanish. She is a graduate of the University Of Detroit Mercy School Of Law, where she served on the Moot Court Team and competed in the Patrick A. Keenan Appellate Advocacy Competition. She also received the Dean’s Scholarship for Academic Excellence.

Prior to joining the firm, Cohen, Lerner, & Rabinovitz, P.C., Ms. Yono clerked for the Honorable Judge Leo Bowman of the Oakland County Circuit Court. Ms. Yono is an active member of the Oakland County Bar Association’s New Lawyer’s Committee. She was elected and currently serves on their Board of Directors. Ms. Yono is admitted to practice in the State of Michigan.

Nolan Yaldo


Mr. Yaldo concentrates his practice in the areas of tax law, general and specialized business transactions, and corporate matters, including: corporate formations, mergers and acquisitions, and corporate dissolutions.

Prior to joining Howard & Howard, Mr. Yaldo was a Summer Associate with the firm. His prior work experience includes several years of owning and operating a successful family business and two years working as an accountant.

Mr. Yaldo received his B.S.B.A., summa cum laude, from Wayne State University in 2008 and his J.D., magna cum laude, from University of Detroit Mercy School of Law in 2011, where he was the Managing Editor of the Law Review and participated in many national moot court competitions. Prior to graduation from law school, Mr. Yaldo was inducted into the Order of Barristers National Society for excellence in oral advocacy and brief writing. He received many honors and awards regarding his oral advocacy and brief writing skills throughout law school. Mr. Yaldo is licensed to practice in the State of Michigan.

Shaun Mansour


Shaun Mansour is an attorney at the Padilla Law Group in Birmingham. He specializes in civil litigation with a primary focus on auto accidents, personal injury, and litigation pertaining to Michigan No-Fault Law. Shaun earned his undergraduate and law degree at Wayne State University.

Tad Roumayah


Tad Roumayah focuses his practice primarily on employment litigation, representing employees who have encountered discrimination and retaliation, including violations of Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the Family Medical Leave Act, and the Americans with Disabilities Act, wrongful discharge, whistleblower protection claims, wage and hour violations, and other employment issues and disputes. Additionally, he represents people and businesses involved in contract disputes and business torts and advises companies on their human resource policies and procedures and other employment-related matters. Before joining Sommers Schwartz, Mr.Roumayah founded and operated his own law practice, giving him perspective on and experience with the unique challenges that employers, employees, and businesses face as they strive to be successful. He has successfully litigated employment cases in both state and federal court and has been listed in “Super Lawyers Rising Stars” in Michigan since 2013. Mr. Roumayah has written and lectured on employment litigation issues.

Salam Elia


Ms. Elia is both a litigation and transactional attorney focusing on the following areas of law: commercial, corporate, contract, collections, real estate, and general civil litigation. She also counsels clients in business formation, asset acquisition and disposition, ongoing business operations, contract matters, franchise, licensing, and creditor settlement.

Ms. Elia received her Juris Doctorate with honors, from the Michigan State University College of Law and received a bachelor’s degree with honors in both Political Science and in Philosophy from the University of Michigan.

Raed Abboo


Attorney Raed L. Abboo has a demonstrated commitment to law, ethics, and justice having experiences with the U.S. Department of Justice, the Chicago Legal Clinic, and as a Solo Practitioner and Volunteer in Chicago and Detroit. Mr. Abboo has served in a legal and business consultancy role for his clients and believes in effective communication and collaboration for achieving set objectives. Mr. Abboo has also assisted community members in immigration cases for citizenship, removal, and adjustment of status and has successfully filed petitions on behalf of clients for waivers of inadmissibility. Raed is currently one of the leading litigators at the Lobb Law Firm, specializing in personal injury and auto accident cases. He received his undergraduate degree from Wayne State University, cum laude, and his J.D. from Chicago-Kent College of Law. Raed is licensed to practice law in Illinois and Michigan.
